In the US, Blue wires are most commonly used for 24VDC control circuits and 208/277VAC lighting applications.
BE CAREFUL - Blue wires are not common within residential construction.
If you run across a single Blue wire at a residential location you may have discovered a "custom" installation. Blue (24VDC) wires may be included in a color coded set of wires used to connect low voltage devices such as thermostats, security alarms, cameras, telephones, computers, etc.
BE CAREFUL AGAIN - Blue wires at a commercial / industrial site could be anything. There's a big difference between 24VDC and 277VAC.
You probably shouldn't touch the wire. Even if its safe you could mess up some expensive equipment. But if you were me, you could trace the wire to its source / destination and put a meter on it.
Answer 2In Europe, a blue wire is used in mains wiring and means that it is neutral.European standard -
Blue = Neutral
Black = Live (230v)
Brown = Earth
UK domestic wiring -
Blue = Neutral
Brown = Live (230-240v)
Yellow/green stripe = Earth
Assunimg you're talking about the UK domestic wiring system...
Brown = Live
Blue = Neutral
Green/Yellow = Earth
yellow
The blue wire is usually just an auxiliary wire. The blue wire does not need to be connected. Tape the end of the blue wire off.
Brown = Hot Blue = Neutral Yellow/Green = Ground
You Should Cut The Yellow Wire! : D
yes
The earth wire, striped green and yellow, is connected to the terminal marked E; this should be the longest of the three wires so that it is the last to become detached if the cable is strained.The live wire (brown) is connected to the terminal marked L.The neutral wire (blue) is connected to the terminal marked N.
The blue wire is usually just an auxiliary wire. The blue wire does not need to be connected. Tape the end of the blue wire off.
To wire a master phone socket (with capacitor) from the pole (usually orange white if not green black or blue pair ) wires go to screw terminals (for NTE5) or pins 2 and 5 doesn't matter which way round. To wire a secondary (no capacitor) NEW WIRE blue/white fleck -- pin 2 white/blue fleck -- pin 5 orange/white fleck -- pin 3 (bell) OLD WIRE blue -- 2 orange -- 5 brown -- 3 (bell)
Blue wire is for a tach I believe
The cast of Red Wire Blue Wire - 2006 includes: Ciaran Kenny as Blue Wire Sinead Murphy as Cleaning lady Niall Walsh as Red Wire
No, example- If the wire is blue with a white strip, (which is your remote wire for the amp turn-on) the wire is blue, the strip is not the color.
The neutral wire will have writing or ribs on it and connects to the white wire. The smooth wire is hot and connects to the black wire. Use 3 strand wire in size AWG # 16. If the fan has a light it will have a blue wire. Connect that blue wire to the black wire.
brown wire is called earth wire .or blue wire with white stripe is for anteena wire ok
Green with Yellow Stripe Wire - Earth Wire (E) Blue Wire - Neutral Wire (N) Brown Wire - Live Wire (L) When you look at the plug with the terminals facing towards you: /\ / \ / E \ / \ / \ / L N \ ------------------
When ever there is a potential difference between it and ground.
red wire, blue wire, green wire and the black wire.
connect the Red Yellow blue phases
