A stingray is a cartilaginous fish related to sharks. The stinger is covered with a thin layer of skin. Its body covering blends in with its habitat and is a thick, rough, rubbery skin.
A stingray's mouth is located underneath its body to facilitate feeding on prey hidden in the ocean floor, such as crustaceans and mollusks. This positioning allows them to use their flattened bodies to camouflage and ambush prey while also enabling them to suck in food efficiently. Additionally, it helps in maintaining a streamlined shape for easier movement through the water. This adaptation is essential for their survival in their natural habitat.
