I'd love to hear this one myself. The book of Revelation has been interpreted many, many times since it was written. No one can claim to know for sure what everything means as it is clear that are many parts that cannot be taken literally. It is clear that Jesus is giving John a vision of the future and much of this portion of time is very unpleasant. God will be judging the nations and individuals who have ignored His offer of salvation. The book ends with a vision of eternity with God finally living among His people physically and spiritually. For those who have believed God the ending is glorious. For those who have decided God's offer is either untrue or of no value, this will be a terrible time. I truly believe the worst part will be that many will come to see that God has been both truthful and loving but their chances have passed and now it is a time of judgment. At the last judgment those being judged as unbelievers will then know the truth - they will know of all the times God had tried to break through their defenses with His love and His gospel, but they rejected Him. This will torment them to the end.

Revelation is a "prophecy" revealed by Jesus Christ to His servants, through John who recorded it, regarding the time referred to in the scriptures as "THE DAY OF THE LORD." The future time in God's plan when the Kingdom of God will be established on earth by the returning Christ [Messiah].

It's written as a "parable"... a tool Jesus used when talking in public to the masses, so that they WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT.

"His apostles asked Him what the story [parable] meant. He replied, God has granted you to know the meaning of these parables, for they tell a great deal about the Kingdom of God. But these crowds hear the words and do not understand just as the ancient prophets predicted." (Luke 8:9-10 LVB Living Bible)

John found himself in the midst of a "dream" on the Isle of Patmos [the method by which God speaks to His prophets of things that shall be - see Num.12:6]... and he found himself transported in his dream to the "time of the end"; the time of our immediate future -- the Day of Jesus' return -- the Day of the Lord:

"It was THE LORD'S DAY and I was worshiping, when suddenly I heard a loud voice behind me, a voice that sounded like a trumpet blast..." (Rev.1:10).

Revelation is written as a parable... and NOT MEANT TO BE UNDERSTOOD BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC. And the world is, to this day, in confusion about it.

"The REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST, which God [the Father] gave unto Him, to SHEW HIS SERVANTS things which must shortly come to pass..." (Rev.1:1).

The prophets of old forewarned man of the coming "Day of the Lord" [the Day of the Lord Jesus Christ's return to earth with the Kingdom of God]... with more than 30 prophecies throughout The Bible. And Revelation is a detailed account of that soon-coming Great Day.

"As to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our final muster before Him, we beg you, brothers, not to let your minds be easily unsettled or even be excited, whether by some message by the Spirit or by some saying or letter that is claimed as coming from me, saying that THE DAY OF THE LORD is already here. Do not let anybody at all deceive you about this, because that CANNOT TAKE PLACE until the great revolt occurs [a 'falling away' in God's church] and the representatives of lawlessness is uncovered, the one who is doomed to destruction." (II Thess.2:1-3 WNT William's New Testament)

The book of Revelation is God's detailed account of the time of Jesus' return at the sounding of the "last trumpet": "the Day of the Lord" -- the Day when the Kingdom of God comes to earth.

"For just then the seventh angel blew his trumpet [the seventh and last trumpet - see Rev.8], and there were loud voices shouting down from heaven, 'The Kingdom of this world now belongs to our Lord, and to His Christ; and He shall reign forever and ever." (Rev.11:15 LVB)

"We give thanks, Lord God Almighty, who IS and WAS [the Eternal], for now you assumed your GREAT POWER and HAVE BEGUN TO REIGN." (verse 17)

Revelation is all about informing God's servants as to the chronology of events leading up to Jesus' return to earth... the Judgment... and the New Beginning [of Eternity] in the Life of the Immortal Family of God.

"...See, I AM MAKING ALL THINGS NEW!... Write this down, for what I tell you is Trustworthy and True." (Rev.21:5 LVB)

"Everyone who conquers [sin through Jesus Christ] will inherit all these blessings, and I will be his God and HE WILL BE MY SON." (verse 7)
