It could be in either one of two places, first on the outside of the CD case or it would be on the back of the booklet that came in the CD case or box.

When you open your case, there is a booklet. Flip the booklet over and at the top you see numbers and letters. There are five parts with for characters. (i.e: ___-___-___-___-___)

You are properly looking in the wrong place, most of the time it is on the booklet (back of booklet) If you have lost the booklet, i can only suggest a serial code, it is not illegal if you already brought the product, the law says as long as its for personal use, then your fine.
u just have to scan that particular booklet by a scaner..then put it in a file..then insert a new CD disk in ur CD drive...then burn the CD with that particular file

It is just a clever name for a CD case. They are the slimmer version of the standard CD case. "Jewel" refers to the piece that clips into the center hole of the CD to keep it in place. It has a jewel-like design.
