Aldermin or Alpha Cephei is the brightest star as seen from Earth in the constellation Cepheus. It is a nearby star at about 48.8 light years and has a luminosity 18 times that of the sun.

Alrediph or Delta Cephei is a binary system about 900 ly away. The brighter star gave it name to the Cepheid Variable class of star. At peak it is about 2000 times as luminous than the sun. From Earth it is not as bright as Aldermin because it is much much further from us.
