What is the capital of Sudan?

Khartoum is the capital of Sudan (located in central Sudan).

Khartoum or Al Khartoum is translated as "place of the elephant trunk" referring to the loop that the Nile river makes to the North of Khartoum. Khartoum is also the confluence (joining) of the White and Blue Nile rivers into the Nile River before it heads North into Egypt.
