Iron and fluorine can be form the compounds

FeF2 (iron [II] fluoride)and FeF3 (iron [III] fluoride or ferric fluoride).

The equations are

Fe + (F2) = FeF2

and

2 Fe + 3 (F2) = 2 (FeF3)
