Natural gas is probably the cleanest burning fossil fuel. When burned properly (with sufficient oxygen), it produces essentially no soot or smoke. It's also fairly simple to refine; just passing it through a container of, basically, rust (specifically, hydrated iron (III) oxide) will remove hydrogen sulfide, a common contaminant of natural gas.

No fossil fuel is clean but the least dirty fossil fuel is natural gas because it generates less carbon dioxide per kilogram of fuel.

Natual gas is the cleanest burning fossil fuel.

What fossil fuel is the cleanest burning fuel?

Natural gas (methane (CH4)) is the cleanest burning fuel, emitting the smallest amount of carbon dioxide of all the fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas).

Is crude oil the cleanest burning fossil fuel?

No, the cleanest is Natural gas. Natural gas (methane (CH4)) is the cleanest burning fuel, emitting the smallest amount of carbon dioxide of all the fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas).

Is petroleum the cleanest burning fossil fuel?

No. Petrol is cleaner than coal, but it is not the cleanest. Natural gas (methane (CH4)) is the cleanest burning fuel, emitting the smallest amount of carbon dioxide of all the fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas).

What is the second cleanest burning fuel?

Of the fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) oil is the second cleanest. Coal is the dirtiest, and natural gas (methane (CH4)) is the cleanest burning fuel, emitting the smallest amount of carbon dioxide of all the fossil fuels.

Is natural gas is cleanest fossil fuel?

Yes. Natural gas (methane (CH4)) is the cleanest burning fuel, emitting the smallest amount of carbon dioxide of all the fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas).

Is natural gas the cleanest burning fossil fuel?

Yes. Natural gas (methane (CH4)) is the cleanest burning fuel, emitting the smallest amount of carbon dioxide of all the fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas).

Which is the cleanest-burning fossil fuel?

Natural gas (methane (CH4)) is the cleanest burning, emitting less carbon dioxide than the others (coal and oil).
