The weather can be quite pleasant in the southern part, but at times it can rain, thunder, and lightening quite intensely. If you are climbing Nyiragongo volcano, it will be VERY cold. If you're hiking to see the gorillas, it will be pleasant but hard work, and when it rains it's cold.
