it is a random sequence. one code will not work for all of them. otherwise it would be a useless security feature.
You have to get a code for it. You can get from the internet ir Mitsubishi, but its not free.
6582
All you need is a 4 digit code. You can call the general Mitsubishi number and give them your VIN and they should be able to give you the code to unlock it.
you need to call mitsubishi(1-888-mitsu2007) and give them the stereo model number and serial number along with your vin. they will then tell you your code. i bought an eclipse and i had to do the same thing
Most of them are different. If you go to the nearest Mitsubishi dealer and show you own the car they will reset it the radio and give you the code
crutchfield's website has details but 1997 should be the same as 1998. 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Convertible == ; In-dash stereo : 8-11/16" depth; Size code E,S,U ; Front speakers : Dash: 4" : Front Door: 6-3/4" ; Far rear speakers : Rear Seat Side Panels: 6x9"
You need to call the dealership and give them the vehicle identification number.
The Mitsubishi Eclipse radio code is the code that makes your radio work. You need to put this code in any time you disconnect the battery.
check out crutchfield's website also for details. 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Convertible == ; In-dash stereo : 8-11/16" depth; Size code E,S,U ; Front speakers : Dash: 4" : Front Door: 6-3/4" ; Far rear speakers : Rear Seat Side Panels: 6x9"
See my answer for another duplicate problem here: How do you reset the radio on a 2003 Honda accord -Bryan Mitsubishi stereo has a protection code. If you cut the power you better know the pass code. If you don't only Mitsubishi itself or its affiliates can help you. You might have to pay for it. There is online service which will send you your radio code for $30, but you have to provide the serial number your radio located on the top of radio.
serial # 9Z154277A (on top of stereo) your code is 6563
You have to remove the panel which goes around the stereo and compartment. You will see four screws which are holding the holder with the stereo and compartment. Remove the screws and take out the holder. You might need to disconnect wire harness and the antenna before you will be able to pull the holder out. The stereo is sitting on 2(4) screws which keep it in the holder.
