What is the color of iron in aflame?

If you're referring to what chemists call a "flame test", then the characteristic color due to iron ions is yellow (which may not be terribly spectacular, depending on how hot the flame in question is).

If you're referring to the color of an iron bar held in a flame, it depends on how hot the flame is; if it's held there long enough, it should be approximately the same color the flame itself is (assuming it doesn't melt first).
