I would think not. However, if live were to come into contact with either the ground, or the neutral or both, this would cause a breaker to trip.
remember the + side of the speaker basically means neutral, in all electric projects the - is always the live line, so if + means neutral that basically means that ground would also be neutral, speakers dont need ground, so if u wish connect + with neutral on the speaker.
Looking at a duplex receptacle the right smaller slot is hot, the left larger slot is neutral and the u ground is ground.
Another homework question? The wires could be Hot or Live, Neutral and Ground.
The only designated colors in electrical wiring in North America are White as a neutral and Green as a ground wire. All other colors can be used as live wires. There are specific colors designated by the electrical code for phase wiring.Answer for European SystemsThe relevant regulations define all conductors, other than the protective (earth/ground) conductor, as 'live' conductors. In Europe, the line conductor has a nominal potential of 230 V with respect to the neutral conductor. In Europe, the the three line conductors of a three-phase system are identified with brown, black, and grey insulation, respectively. For single-phase systems, brown is normally used. Neutral conductors are identified using blue insulation, and protective (earth/ground) conductors are identified using green/yellow stripedinsulation.

It sounds like either you have a bad ground connection or that ground and neutral are NOT bonded at the main panel only. There is either a strap or screw in main panel that connects ground and neutral. Also check the connection to a ground rod and that the ground rod is intact.

In the UK, the old wiring colours were... Live = red, Neutral = black, Earth = green.

There is no such thing as a 'neutral phase'. 'Live' or 'hot' conductors are called 'lines', whereas the neutralconductor is at approximately earth (ground) potential. So, a toaster would be connected between a line and a neutral conductor.

IF Neutral is connected to the Switch then Live still exists on the socket even if the Switch is OFF.In such a situation a person can get a shock as Live can form a circuit thru the body to Ground.
