The Bible defines "sin" as the transgression [or breaking] of the Law, namely the Ten Commandments [see I John 3:4 & Rom.7:7].
It also reveals that the "original" sinner, contrary to the erroneous belief of most folks, ignorant of the Truth of the Bible, was not Adam and/or Eve... but was and is none other than Satan the Devil.
Murder, stealing, lying, etc., listed in the Commandments are what sin is; and regarding Satan the Devil, Jesus tells us:
"...HE WAS A MURDERER FROM THE BEGINNING...'When he speaketh a LIE, he speaketh of HIS OWN: for he is a LIAR, and THE FATHER [the ORIGINATOR] of it.'" (John 8:44)
As for the "color" of sin, strangely enough, sin is attributed to DARKNESS:
"Your eye is a lamp for your body. A Pure eye lets sunshine into your soul. But an EVIL EYE SHUTS OUT THE LIGHT and PLUNGES YOU INT DARKNESS. If the light you THINK YOU HAVE is really darkness [if Satan has deceived your mind and heart], how deep that darkness will be!" (Matt.6:22-23 NLT New Living Translation)
Jesus told Saul: "...'I AM going to send you to the Gentiles, to OPEN THEIR EYES so they may TURN FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT, and FROM THE POWER OF SATAN to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their SINS and be given a place among God's people, who are set apart [sanctified] by Faith in Me." (Acts 26:17-18 NLT)
A study of the COLORS of the rainbow are found [normally hidden from the human eye] in the WHITE LIGHT of the SUN [to which Jesus is compared in Scripture - i.e. see Rev.1:16]. The human eye can only see the colors in white light through a prism or according to the absorption and/or reflection of it in relationship to the various types of pigmentation in the things found throughout creation!
The colors we see with our eyes, technically, reveals how easily the human eye is deceived [actually, all of our five physical senses are easily deceived]. For instance: if we observe a shirt that we think of as "red"... it's the pigmentation in the shirt that's actually "reflecting" the color red to the eye, while all the other colors in the white light are being "absorbed" into the shirt. Technically speaking, then, opposite to the way we think, the red shirt is actually "every color BUT red" because all of the rest of the colors are IN THE SHIRT -- so, red is the ONLY COLOR that the shirt ISN'T... because the pigmentation in the shirt is rejecting it, or reflecting it to the eye. So, the color we see is the color we think it is.
Anyway... "sin is colorless." Sin is DARKNESS where no color is... and not LIGHT which carries all of the colors.
