The cuprous sulfide - Cu2S - is black.
copper (I) sulfide Common name: Chalcocite. It is an important copper mineral ore that is opaque with a dark grey to black luster.
Hydrogen sulphide is a toxic gas; also dangerous for paintings containing lead colours and for objects made from silver. You think probably to hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), used for restoring.. Lead (II) trioxocarbonate (IV) in white Lead (II) paint is converted to lead (II) Sulphide by atmospheric Hydrogen Sulphide. This reaction darkens the colour of the Paint. Hydrogen Peroxide is added to the Paint to restore the colour where it oxidizes the Lead (II) Sulphide to Lead (II) tetraoxosulphate (VI).
Whitish
Formula: CuI
Formula: Cu3As
Cu2S
Reddish
colourless gas
Pure zinc sulphide is white in colour and is used as white pigment. But it is usually black in colour due to the presence of impurities.
it ranges from red to maroon
Black, odorless powder
This equation is basically 2Cu + S => Cu2S. If it was cupric sulfide it would be Cu + S -----> CuS
The correct spelling is 'cuprous', and means copper-conatining. Some cuprous metals are, copper (obviously), brass, and bronze
Cuprous oxide or copper I oxide is Cu2O
a cuprous ion has 28 electrons.
It reacts with sulphur present in the atmsphere and forms silver sulphide which is black in colour
colour is different and so is some others
