The False Leaf Katydid is the common name of Orophus tessellatus.

Specifically, this long-horned grasshopper is adept at blending with lush forest foliage. That is why it has the common name that it has. But this protective coloring does not help it out at all the few times that it ends up among ground-level leaf litter. There it stands out "like a sore thumb."
