Assuming you don't mean the actual buttons, but the control module itself. That would be located in the dash on the drivers side above the steering wheel assembly.
If you can't make it to work with your fader and balance adjustment buttons, then it is broken and should be replaced.
To get the computer codes you press the "Off" and Warm" buttons on the A/C unit at the same time.
