What are the limitations of computer machines?

Computer systems have to process data using the instructions coded for them by programmers. They can not adjust to change in input variables well unless reprogrammed to accommodate the new data.

Wow! I have to admit that you have posted the most open-ended question I have found so far.

The obvious limitations are CPU (Central Processing Unit) speed, the amount of memory on the computer, the buss speed (how fast the CPU can communicate with other devices), the disk drive access speed (both RPM and data transfer), and probably 100 other things that someone will add.

Then, consider the fact that computers can communicate over their own internal network and parallel process data simultaneously (like the well-known search engine G00GLE), and there becomes a point where the only limitation is resources.

Resources can include money, hardware, power, speed of the current technology, and the operating system.

So, I guess I would argue that there is no limit of using computers, until you limit the resources you are willing to allocate to it/them.

Yea, I know...the next question is: "What are the limitations of resources of using computers?"

I'll leave that for the next guy/gal... ;-)
