GERD, or GastroEsophageal Reflux Disorder is the condition. Results of GERD vary from mild to critical. Everyone has experienced GERD a few times -- as heartburn. And in these cases it's not critically dangerous. In chronic situations, however, the gastric acids can erode tissues of the esophagus and larynx resulting in what amounts to chemical burns of these areas. In extreme cases, ulcers can form, and bleeds in the esophagus can be nasty. Laryngitis, temporary or permanent can also be one result. If the gastric liquid is inhaled, however, real problems can occur. Pneumonitis, an pneumonia-like inflamation of lung tissue can result, which in turn can light off bronchial spasms and Asthma-like symptoms that can lead to hypoxia and even death. Further, the damage to the lungs may cause an influx of serum into the lung as it heals, and in turn increases chances of pulmonary infection. Inhalation of gastric liquids is cause to call a doctor. Recovery time for this runs up to about 9 days, roughly.

Yes it is. The proper name for it is Gastric Acid.

Gastric Juice
Me, ha ha ha!
Gastric juice, as known is an acidic juice present in the stomach. Pepsinogen in gastric juice conveys it to convert the pieces of food into a thick paste which then continues on. ^_^
Gastric protrease is produced by the walls of the stomach. It breaks down proteins to amino acids in the stomach (a highly acidic place).
Dyspepsia.A common cause of dyspepsia and heartburn is gastroesophageal reflux disease, GERD.Dyspepsia."Heartburn" is also known as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It is a condition caused by structural or functional incompetence of the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), which permits retrograde flow of acidic gastric juice into the esophagus causing the irritation and burning sensation commonly called heartburn.DyspepsiaDyspepsia

on average, gastric juice has a pH somewhere between 1-2, thus gastric is VERY acidic, as it is required to break up many varieties of food and nutrients
