What is the conflict in the book Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer?

In Twilight, the first book of the series, the conflict is that Bella finds out this guy Edward is a vampire, and she's in love with him. He's a "vegatarian" vampire, meaning he doesn't drink human blood, just animal blood, but Bella's blood is like a drug to him and he loves her too so of course he doesn't wanna kill her. Vampires aren't suppose to tell humans they exist so a few of Edwards family (or coven if you want to call it that) are a bit ticked off but most of them accept it. When they do a family outing one evening (playing Baseball...it's very interesting in the book) a group of nomad, human killling vampires hears them and comes by, they pick up the scent of Bella because she's the only human in a group of vamps. All vampire's apparently have special abilites and Edwards is mind reading, he reading the killer vamps mind and realizes that they want to kill Bella. Now he's got to keep Bella safe.

In the second book, New Moon, the main conflict becomes 'Edward vs. Jacob', which has spawned a fandom like no other. Who should Bella choose? Who is easier/safer/better to love? Is one better for Bella than the other? Etc. And, again, there is secondary conflict. This time, it is the Volturi's discovery of Bella and their realization that she knows far too much. This gives birth to the Volturi conflict in general which is, simply put, "Bella must become a vampire or she must be destroyed." This book also opens up the conflict of La Push vs. the Cullens (werewolves vs. vampires).

In the third book, Eclipse, the aforementioned conflicts continue. The added conflict of this novel is Victoria and her New Borns vs. Bella and the Cullens/La Push Wolves.

In the fourth book, Breaking Dawn, the conflicts are all over the map. Breaking Dawn, as a novel, is rather a conflict in itself. However, the main conflicts (for the first half) revolve around the conception/birth of Renesmee. The wolves of La Push view this as an abomination that should be destroyed. Jacob leaves the pack in an effort to defend the Cullens; voila conflict. Later, the conflict is dissolved and reborn as Cullens/Werewolves vs. Volturi.

So that's pretty much it, in a nutshell. I'm sure other will say there's much more to it but, for the most part, that's about it.
