NLP is a common acronym for "Neuro-Linguistic Programming," a method of psychiatric therapy which uses a purported therapeutic connection between neurology and language to "re-program" the brain. Supporters claim that NLP can be used in the treatment of various psychological disorders, such as phobias and anxieties. The term "Neuro-Linguistic Programming" encompasses a variety of techniques, including the careful observation of both the client's verbal and non-verbal reactions, the interpretation of these subtle "cues," and the implementation of appropriate therapy in response to the practitioner's interpretation.
Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) was developed in the 1970s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. It is a psychological approach that focuses on the connection between language, behavior, and cognitive patterns. NLP aims to help individuals improve communication skills, overcome phobias, and achieve personal growth.
Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a branch of artificial intelligence that focuses on the interaction between computers and humans through natural language. It involves the development of algorithms and models that enable computers to understand, interpret, and generate human language. NLP is used in applications such as language translation, sentiment analysis, chatbots, and information retrieval.
An neuro-linguistic programming (also referred to by the acronym "NLP") practitioner is a certified individual. It is noted that an NLP practitioner can help with phobias.

Good question! NLP uses aspects of conversational hypnosis which was modeled from the work of Dr. Milton H. Erickson in the 1970's. Therefore, all of NLP has and uses some distinctions from hypnosis - in a very indirect manner. Hypnosis specifically however, uses more direct suggestions and is often a do-to therapeutic tool where NLP is more of a do-with tool. Please let me know if I can help further!
