Improvement. That order is mostly right, except the Unit Production Manager is ALWAYS first. Not sure why, but that's what you learn at film school.
There are some standards to opening credits, but some minor variations do exist--typically when giving more prominence to a more famous person.
*Distribution company if different from the production company; e.g. "Distribution Company Name Presents"
*Name of production company/companies (always respect the people with the money); e.g. "A Big Name Production"
*Director (this is optional); e.g. "A Ridley Scott Film"
*Producer
*Executive Producer
*Top Billing Actors (listed in order based upon their personal fame and prominence in the movie); e.g. sometimes a big name with a smaller part can receive top billing. Equal billing is given when two actors are listed at the same time--the name on the left is considered the "slightly" more prominant name unless the name on the right is slightly raised higher up on the screen to indicate they are truly equal.
*The Movie Title
*Key Cast Below the Title Billing; ("Introducing..." for an actor's first appearance on screen; "And..." is reserved at the end to showcase a big name actor with a small role, or "With..." is used to showcase multiple names.
*Director; e.g. "Directed by..."
*Screenplay Writer
Additionally you can also have heads of department, most notably:
*DOP Director of Photography
*Film Editor
*Original Score Composer
*Production Designer
*Costume Designer
*Special Effects/Visual Effects Supervisor
Non-key cast and everything else can be left to the closing credits.
There is no specific correct order, it all depends on who the director/producers wants to credit and what order they decide to.
Robert Pattison has no credits for any of the Law and Order series.
The reason he isn't credited is because he was doing another movie called The Stand at the same time. But Chris Farley really wanted him for the part of "Paul", so Rob did it as a favor to him. In order to be in the movie, he had to be uncredited. He did it as a favor to Chris. His contract with "The Stand" said he couldn't do another movie at the same time, citing a conflict of interest. So therefore, he did Tommy Boy uncredited. It's not unusual.

In movie order, IIRC: - "Raise Your Hands" (Bon Jovi) - "Heartstrings" (Berlin) - "Hot Together" (Pointer Sisters) - "Spaceballs" (The Spinners) - "Wanna Be Loved By You" (Ladyfire) - "Good Enough" (Van Halen) "Spaceballs" is also played during the end credits. One other song, "My Heart Has A Mind Of Its Own" (Kim Carnes/Jeffrey Osborne), is also on the soundtrack but I don't remember exactly where it appears in the movie (unless it was left on the cutting room floor?).
