The speed signal on a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country comes from the transmission output speed sensor. That part is usually only about $30.
silinoid pack on transmission It is not the transmission. I have the same car that had the same problem. You need a speed sensor. It cost about 13.00 at autozone and is easy to replace yourself. It is under your front driver's side tire. If you google where the sensor is located, know how to remove and put back on a tire, and screw in a light bulb (cause that is how the sensor comes off and goes on)- it is an easy fix. Oh ya you might have to use a small wrench to get the old one off. Trust me this is it Most likely it is the output speed sensor.
