It depends really on whether you are particular about brand. If you are, then prices start from around $65. If you aren't, it can be as low as around $36, like those you can find in website like this one: http://www.cheap-electronic-store.com/prodCat.asp?CatID=15001250
If you wanted a good quality mp4 player it would cost between £60 to £120, personally I think you would be better investing in a ipod touch because it can do every thing a mp4 can do but better and much, much more. Yes it is a little bit pricier than an mp4 but it is sure worth it.

mp4 conversions are faster and more advanced than mp3 conversions. Additionally, mp4 holds more data than the later. It may cost a little more to get technology that holds mp4 but it is honestly worth it in the end.
it depends how many gigabites you want it can be $100 or $350
well yes your mp4 can die only if you constantly drop it then the mp4 will be dead and no more mp4 for you so that's how it die's
I usually do this in 3 steps:Load the DVD to mp4 ripper;Set the output format as MP4;Click "START" .You can download the free DVD Ripper below. If it will cost a comparative long time, I'll choose "shut down the computer when conversion completed". It works well for me by now!
