the current condition of the cotton textile industry in Mumbai is very worse because of the increase in the development of the city. A cotton industry needs a open place so that the smoke released from the factories does not pollute the surrounding areas. So many of the cotton industries are now shifted to Ahemadabad which is the best place for such a industry

What is D2 tool steel?

D2 steel is a steel that is vacuum heat treated i.e raised to a high temp and rapidly cooled by a vacuum process it is an ideal steel to use for punch and dies or injection mould tools. It is a difficult material to machine and requires a special wheel for surface grinding after heat treatment. It also hardly moves during the treatment process so you can manufacture parts as thin as 2mm and leave only 0.004 for finish grinding. D-2 is a high-carbon high-chromium tool steel manufactured for high abrasive wear applications. D-2 can be heat treated to RC 64. This grade as a low tempering temperature. Many of the common coatings can not be applied because the process temperature used to apply the coating is higher than the tempering temperature of the D-2 tool steel. For this material, D2 tool steel, you can find detailed data check list at www dot astmsteel dot com/product/d2-tool-steel-1-2379-x153crmo12-skd11/. The high chromium content gives this grade some stainless properties, although, it is not classified as a stainless steel. D-2 is used for barrel liners in the plastic molding industry, die components in the metal stamping industry, and many other applications requiring high wear resistance in many other industries. What is the difference between carbon steel and mild steel?

Carbon steel includes mild steel. Mild carbon steel(as it is referred to) contains .05 - .29% carbon. Medium carbon steel is from .30 - .59%. High carbon steel is from .60 - .99%. Ultra high carbon steel is from 1.00 - 2.00%. Steel is considered carbon steel up to 2.1%. Past that it is considered cast iron. The more carbon in the steel the harder and less ductile and maleable it is and also the more brittle it is. The less carbon in the steel more it will bend and shape without breaking. So in essence carbon adds strength but takes away from its elasticity. Give reasons why most of cotton textile industries have shifted to Ahmedabad area from Mumbai?

Most of the cotton textile industries have been recently shifted to Ahmedabad from Bombay (Mumbai) because of the following reasons:The cotton producing areas are much wider in the Ahmedabad region than in the Mumbai region.Cost of the land in Mumbai has risen sky-high, so none dares to open new textile mills or expand old ones in that city. Ahmedabad is comparatively much cheaper. So Ahmadabad has more prospectus of development of cotton textile industry as compared to Mumbai.Cloth produced by Ahmedabad is of much cheaper rate and thus it has ready markets among the local people. On the other hand the cloth produced by Mumbai is much costlier and thus its range is limited tohigh class only.Mumbai is already over-crowded as compared to Ahmedabad so there is no scope of any expansion in that city. The problem of pollution is much more in Mumbai because of over congestion and thus there is very limited scope of any further establishment of cotton mills in Mumbai.
