Explanation 1. First, you plant the seed... Then with nature's help, the stalk grows up to be a big popcorn (corn) plant! Then, the farmer, (after the corn has dried) will pick all the stalks with the help of a very big and pretty machine called a "Combine Harvester." This machine picks the corn, stalks and all, and separates the ears of corn from the stalks. The corn, is then placed into tall, round buildings called "Silos". During the storage phase, the corn continues to dry (if there is any moisture left in the cob) then the farmer will separate the corn he wants to plant from the corn he wants to sell. Then friends of Orville Redenbacher, Jiffy Pop, and Micro Waveable, will come out and offer the farmer bags and bags of money for all the corn he has left! The farmer will sell the corn to the one that has the biggest and more bags of money! Then, the Buyer will take the corn and de-cob it and wash it, and then package it in cool packages to sell at the supermarkets all over the world. ........ Explanation 2. .....Then your mommy or daddy will buy the popcorn from the supermarket and take it home. Then, one night, when you were really good, and ate all your dinner, or took out the trash, or walked the dog, Mommy or Daddy took the popcorn out of the bag and either air-popped or microwaved it until all the kernels popped. Then they added butter and a little salt, and you sat in front of the TV and ate it while watching a funny, family movie. Then, while you were sleeping, the popcorn you ate would stay in your stomach for a little while, while the stomach digested (dissolved) the soft white part of the popcorn. Then, during the night, while you were sleeping, the empty husks (the hard skin around the popcorn before it was popped) moved into your small intestines, and the small intestines absorbed as much of the good nutrients as it possibly could. Then, close to a couple of hours before you wake up, the leftover husks made their way through the duodenum (can you say DOO-WA-DI-NUM?) (the small tubes connecting the small intestines to the large intestines) into the large intestines. Here, they get packed up into little chunks of fecal matter (poop) and any nutrients left will be absorbed at this time. Then, all of it will be packed into the rectum for disposal later (when you need to go to the bathroom). .....And thus ends the cycle of the popcorn!
