Your answer depends on your definition of 'dark'.

Antarctica is the darkest continent, but you can walk about there by starlight and moonlight -- when there is no sun -- and navigate perfectly to your destination.

Inside of a cave, however, where there is no light, you will not be able to see your shoulder or your hand in front of your face.

Sunrise at the South Pole is on about the 21st of September every year. Sunset is on about the 22nd of March the following year. The reverse is the case at the North Pole. So a polar day is about 6 months and a polar night is also about 6 months.
