Scripturally speaking, The Bible tells us that no one, not even the Angels, know the date of the end. Not one person knows the day or the hour that the world will come to an end. But one thing is certain: (and most scientists will agree) that the world has a beginning, and it will have an end; eventually. Even if it is not for many thousands of years from now.
~Actually this information is not entirely true. Certain recent studies have actually shown that May 21st, 2011 is the beginning of the end; the final days of this universe. Harold Camping along with several followers have found evidence that this will be the end of the world.

However, now in our present day, God has opened up His Word (the Bible) to reveal a great deal of truth concerning the end of time (and many other teachings). Also, in the same chapter of Daniel, it says:
Daniel 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
God is now opening up His Word because we have arrived at the time of the end. For this reason, it has become very obvious to the serious student of the Bible that we are now living in the last few days of earth's history.
There are also some parabells that prove this theory: (Parabells are symbolism. Ex: wine= blood bread= skin water= sin) According to the Bible, God created the world in 7 days. There are parabells for numbers as well. 7=complete. 1000=day. So how do the numbers "7" and "1000" fit into this date?
The year. Every Christian has heard about Noah's ark. In 4990 BC, the flood began. The only survivors were Noah, his wife, and his three sons and their wives survived. 7000 years from that is 2011. These two parabells equal days complete. The last days of this world.
