Wet 54g is a type of wireless router used for wireless internet access. Companies such as Belkin, Linksys, and Netgear each offer versions of this router to consumers and businesses as well.
If I understand your question, using the Belkin as a repeater, the answer is no.
A Belkin 54g wireless USB network adapter price starts from å£11 for brand new. They are rear these days but can be purchased from Amazon, PC world, Currys, eBay, to name a few.
Maybe. I have a couple Belkin 54G v6000 and v8000 routers that can do this. If the routers support "wireless bridging" (also known as "WDS", "Repeater", or "Client-Mode") then you can set up one in client/bridge mode and the other as a host/router. You'll have to check the manual and see if this is supported, and how to configure it.
You can purchase a Linksys WRT54G wireless router from your local retail stores electronics section. You can also purchase one online at websites such as Amazon, Sears, and eBay.
What worked for me was to use Win XP to automatically generate an encryption key and password that I then pasted into my Lynksys WRT54G router when prompted. That made my wi-fi access point secure with WPA2 encryption. Until you do what precedes, I suggest that you at least disable public broadcasting by your router as follows: use your browser to access your router at 192.168.1.1 (the Linksys default address) and password "admin" (also their default password); then on the menu click on the Wireless tab; then put a checkmark next to "Disable public broadacasting." What did absolutely NOT WORK were any of Linksys' "Secure Easy Setup" or their printed instructions or their totally useless "remote setup session" for which they charged me $9.99 and never even called me back as promised after a first "technician" screwed up my initial setup that was fine except that it had no encryption.
54g = 0.119 lbs

You will need to use a router. Most comercially available routers are both wireless 54g and can support around 4 wired connections as well. As long as you have file sharing enabled, then your two computers should be visible over the network.
The wireless bridge function is no longer available. All recent versions of the Belkin F5D7230-4 router (version 7000 and above) no longer support this function although I cannot find any announcement on the Belkin website. Check the version number on the outside of the package. The web screen for version 7000 does not have the "wireless bridge" option.This is from a search I did on the Belkin web site. This tells you how to setup the router to become a bridge.How To: Configure WDS (Wireless Bridging) with the 54g routerThe information in this article applies to the following products:802.11g Wireless DSL/Cable Gateway Router (F5D7230-4)802.11g Wireless Network Access Point (F5D7130)Router Configuration1. You know it is working when you get DHCP from the AP. I tried using two belkin routers (802.11g, Firmware 4.05.03, Boot 2.01.09, Model F5D7230-4V4) in a chain. The layout is like this:Cable Modem
Imma guess 48.
It is only for the internet, any other signal usage will not work with this wireless network card.
