A metal property is composed of METAL, NON-METAL and METALLOIDS. In Periodic Table, they were seperated by METALLOIDS which is the METAL is more than NON-METAL.

The metal are usually shiny, very dense, high melting, and high boiling point;most of METAL are solids except Hg ( Mercury ),they are also good electrical and thermal conductivity, it combine with non-metals but it cannot combine with each other.

The non-metals can see in the right side of the periodic table. Their surface is dull and they don't conduct heat and electricity. As they compared to metals, they have low dense, low melting, and low temperatures.

The Metalloids are the one who seperated the metals and non-metals. As we can see in the Periodic Table they look like a ladder. their electricity and heat travel through metalloids but not as easily as they travel through metals.
