A shop manual is a manual supposedly written by the people who have designed a machine. - Unfortunately that doesn't always happen ! - We now have manuals hastily flung together by writers who have little or no technical expertise. I routinely find manuals, particularly machinery assembly manuals where the writer has obviously never even seen the machine he is writing about - Sad.
