First used by Dumbledor, it extinguishes light sources. Dumbledor used it to put out the street lights near the Dursley residence.
He left Ron his Deluminator.

The put-outer, or deluminator, is a device invented by Albus Dumbledore. When used, the light in a lamp, street light or overheard light will be transferred and stored in the device which can then be used when in a dark room. The deluminator also led Ron back to Harry and Hermione.
A deluminator also known as Put-Outer was originally Dumbledore's (later it was given to Ron) and was able to suck any light into it and then also return the light later. It was used by Dumbledore in the first book so that no muggles would notice Hagrid, McGonagall, and him dropping off Harry.
enchanted coins, howler, deluminator (put-outer), invisibility cloaks, hand of glory, elder wand, resurrection stone, and Horcruxes.
I think you mean deluminator. It's a device that looks like a cigarette lighter but it sucks up light when clicked. Dumbledore invented it and then left it to Ron in his will after he died. :)
Professor McGonagall turns from a cat to her, Dumbledore apparates and uses the deluminator, Ron tries to turn Scabbers yellow, and Harry's glasses are mended by Hermione. The first spell is Wingardium Leviosa which makes objects float.
