∙ 6y agoWi-fi is used to describe a wireless connection between a computer and another computer, or an access point. Many times people connect to the internet using wi-fi. Wi-fi itself is not the internet. For example, two computers can connect to each other and form a network by using wi-fi, but there may or may not be internet, depending on whether one of the computers has a separate internet connection.

∙ 10y agoA wi-fi connection is a way to connect to a network. A network can have an internet connection, but that isn't a requirement. So i can use wi-fi to connect to the other computers on my network even if I haven't paid for an internet connection. An internet connection is usually done through a phone or cable company, and you can attach a wireless router so that you can use that internet conneciton through wi-fi in your home. Most wi-fi connections at retail stores advertise wi-fi but they really mean wi-fi with an internet connection.
