Microsoft Word is a computer program, or a software application, that runs on a computer. A typewriter is a physical device for typing things. It has no facility for doing things like spell-checking, formatting text, copying text and a huge range of other things that a word processor can do.

In most situations MS Word would be more useful, the delete key is a very useful feature which can't neatly be emulated using a typewriter (though there are ways).
