The LX and GT are two different optional upgrades to the base model Ford Mustang with each targeting a separate consumer group. For the more conservative Mustang consumer who wanted a more luxury oriented model, a Mustang fully loaded with all the automatic accessories like electronic door locks, electric side power mirrors and windows, cruise control and the like the Mustang LX gave them all of that but with clean smooth lines for the body. The Tail Lights, body side molding and other body accessories were major upgrades from the base model but they did not overtly alter the base model body lines. To the untrained eye the LX exterior looked just like the base model so for consumers who wanted a sports car but not a race car this was the model they chose. The GT on the other hand was the race car. The Gt's exterior body is completely different than the base model Mustang or the luxury LX version. First and foremost the GT Mustang has full ground effects, skirting that surrounded the whole car and gave it the classic Muscle car look, it also had upgrades to the engine and suspension but included all of the automatic goodies that its brother they LX had. When one conjurs up a vision of a Mustang what they see is the GT Mustang, not the LX or the base models, it is the version that made Mustang a legend.
most likely not, since GT and LX are different body trims.
LX was a trim level for the mustang, slotted below the GT in the lineup
They are different.83-90 are the same, then they changed the style for 91-93.
The difference between a GT and an LX is the GT is a 2 door , the LX is a 4 door. The GT has a 1.8 L dual overhead cam with 4 valves per cylinder. An LX has a 1.9 liter engine with a single overhead cam and 2 valves per cylinder. The GT has a tach. The LX doesn't.
a full weight 5.0 1990 mustang gt weighs around 3400-3450lbs. an lx mustang can be around 3350-3400lbs.

No, there is a Mustang, with different models(GT, LX, COBRA, MACH1,ETC) You are probably thinking of a Corvette Z06.
The 5.0 liter V8 engine used in the 1993 Ford Mustang GT / LX 5.0 is rated at ( 205 horsepower from the factory )
install all the wireing
Yes. The motor and transmission will fit but you will need to redo the front springs and possibly change motor mount locations. I have a 1988 mustang lx with a ford 460 sitting in it.
The GT hatchback's are around 3200 lbs, the LX coupes(4 cylinder) are 2750 lbs, the convertable LX(4 cylinder) are 2960 lbs, and the convertable GT 5.0's are 3320 lbs. Fun little cars with a lot of motor.
This is a difficult question to answer because you don't clarify what the criterias are. But if you are looking for gas milage your best bet is an 84-86 Mustang SVO. If you are looking for fun, horsepower and all around aftermarket a V8 mustang is hard to beat if you are talking in the 80s to early 90s the LX and GT mustangs were not very different except the GT had a heavy body package making it a bit slower than the LX. Nowadays the GT is the only one to possess the V8 (Except for the GT500, or the cobras from the previous body styles). Dollar for dollar I would bet on the V8.
