One of the main differences between a national and an international scout is that the national scout is from a local chapter within the nation of residence and an international scout is from a chapter outside of the nation of residence. Another difference between the two is the set of rules that are abided by and the badges that can be earned.

What is the difference between Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts?

The main difference is that they belong to different national and international organizations. In the US, Girl Scout troops are members of the national organization, Girl Scouts of the USA. Boy Scout or Scout Troops are members of the national organization, Boy Scouts of America. Each national organization determines the kind of program the troops will use based on guidelines from the international organization. Both organizations earn badges and other awards, however, the awards and the requirements are different. The uniforms are different as determined by the national organization. The way the troops themselves are organized is different.

How many Scout groups are there in the world?

The answer to this questions depends on what is meant by "group". There are 6 International Scouting organizations that serve most of the national scout organizations. There is one international organization that is just for adults. There are at least 528 National Scouting Associations. If you are asking about local groups/troops, it would be very difficult to find a total number as troops/groups are always changing.

What are the two types of Boy Scout jamborees?

The Boy Scouts of America only has one jamboree- the national Scout jamboree held every four years or so. The 2013 National Scout Jamboree will be held at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia.Similar events at district, council or other levels are usually called camporees or camporalls. Sometimes these are called jamborees, but the BSA officially reserves that term only for the national event. The BSA is a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), an international association for Scouting organizations. WOSM has a world Scout jamboree every four years or so. The 23rd World Scout Jamboree will be held in Japan in 2015Other Scouting organizations and international associations also have jamborees.
