CAN=Controller Area Network. The CAN suffex is a set of extended protocols. Simply put the OBDIICAN is more advanced then the standard OBDII reader.

There is not much of a difference between a pin code and a postal code. A pin code is used in India while other countries such as the U.S. use postal codes.

A code reader can just display a code and does not show any data which may pertain to the code.
You can't rent a code reader but you can have them use it on your car and tell you what the codes mean. You can buy an inexpensive code reader for around 50 dollars.
