Best Answer

Protons are in the nucleus of an atom while electrons are in the electron cloud. Electrons can also travel to other atoms and are very fast moving. Protons are very large whereas electrons are 2,000 times smaller than protons.

  • Proton mass is about 1836 times electron mass.
  • Proton charge is positive, electron charge is negative.
  • Proton is hadron, electron is lepton.
  • Proton contains 3 quarks (UUD), electron contains no quarks.
  • Proton responds to strong force, electron does not.
  • Proton is usually in nucleus, electron is usually in orbitals far from nucleus.

What are the differences between proton and electron?

proton is positivley charged and id inside the nucleus of an atom, while a electron is negativley charged and orbits the nucleus.

A proton is a subatomic particle carrying a charge equal to but opposite that of an electron true or false?

True. But please note that there are other differences between the proton and the electron as well - for example, the proton has a larger mass, and the proton is made up of smaller particles, while the electron - as far as we know - is not.

What is the difference between the three subatomic particles?

The main differences are proton and neutron are in the nucleus, electrons are outside of the nucleus. The weight of an electron is between a hundred and a thousand times less of that of a proton and neutron and the charge on a proton is positive, neutron is neutral and electron is negative

What are three subatomic paarticles in an atom?

Neutron, proton, electron.Neutron, proton, electron.Neutron, proton, electron.Neutron, proton, electron.

How big is a proton compared to a electron?

A proton is bigger than electron

How electron is converted into proton?

An electron will not decay into a proton by any means.

How big is a electron compared to a proton?

A proton is bigger than electron

Does an electron or proton have a larger charge?

No. The electron and proton have the same amount of charge. Its just that the electron's charge is negative and the proton's charge is positive.

Is a proton larger or smaller than electron?

An electron is 1/1,836 of a proton.

How do you charge an atom?

remove either a proton or electron OR add a proton or electron...

What is the difference in the amount of charges in a proton and electron?

A proton and an electron have exactly opposite charges. If you take the charge of a proton as +1, then an electron has a charge of -1.

What are the charges for an electron and a proton?

A proton has a positive charge of +1 An electron has a negative charge of -1 An neutron has no charge
