there are practically the same thing

for example h20 (water) water is not a element but a bond the h stands for hygrogen and sinse it has a 2 infront there are 2 and O stands for oxogen and there isnt a number in front so there is 0. elements are attoms no difference but elements make up everything and theres something like 142 known elements

What is the fundamental difference between covalent and ionic bonding?

The nature of the elements in the bond. Elements with a high difference in electronegativity have ionic bonds, elements with a small difference have nonpolar covalent bonds, and elements with no difference (if an atom binds to an atom of the same element) have nonpolar covalent bonds. The more electronegative eleme

They are two different elements composed of two different types of atom. They have different chemical and physical properties.

How Difference atom and element?

atom and elements are different because one atom makes an element and a element is a pure substance and a atom is a basic particle

Do ionic bonds have a greater or lesser electronegativity difference between them than a covalent bond?

The difference in electronegativity between two elements bonded into a compound by ionic bonds is almost always greater than the difference in electronegativity between two elements bonded into a compound by covalent bonds.

What's the difference between an atom and an element?

An atom is the smallest unit of matter that retains the properties of an element. An element is a pure substance made up of only one type of atom. In other words, atoms are the building blocks of elements.

How can one determine the partial charge in chemistry?

In chemistry, the partial charge of an atom can be determined by considering the electronegativity difference between atoms in a molecule. Electronegativity is a measure of an atom's ability to attract electrons in a chemical bond. The greater the difference in electronegativity between atoms, the greater the partial charge on each atom. This can be calculated using formulas or tables that provide electronegativity values for different elements.

What difference between atom and subatomic?

Select the statements that are true about electronegativity between elements and their type of bond?

Electronegativity is a measure of an atom's ability to attract shared electrons in a chemical bond. In general, the greater the electronegativity difference between two atoms in a bond, the more polar the bond. A higher electronegativity difference between two elements in a bond typically results in an ionic bond while a smaller difference leads to a covalent bond.
