The difference is that Antarctica is the continent on which the South Pole (an imaginary point of the Earth's axis) is found. What you are confused about is the overuse of the term South Pole for the whole Antarctic region, this applies to the North Pole as well, we should refer to it as the Arctic Region, not the North Pole.
