∙ 15y agoThe goal of wine fermentation is primarily alcohol production, flavour change and preservation. The alcohol produced inhibits other microbes from growing. In bread however, the goal of fermentation is minor flavour change and C02 production. The C02 produced cases the bread to rise (minor amounts of alcohol is also produced prolonging shelf life alittle).

∙ 15y agoBread fermentation involves yeast acting on sugars in flour to produce carbon dioxide gas, which causes the dough to rise. Wine fermentation involves yeast converting sugars in Grape Juice to alcohol and carbon dioxide, resulting in the production of wine. Both processes rely on yeast to convert sugars into different compounds, but the end products and desired outcomes are different.
Yeast fermentation is used in the production of bread, beer, and wine to convert sugars into alcohol and carbon dioxide.
All fermentation produces ATP and 2 pyruvate. Alcohol fermentation will also produce Acetaldehyde and thereby Ethanol. Lactic acid fermentation produces Lactate. In the process of fermentation NADH (aka reduced NAD) is also produced.
There are two main types of fermentation: alcoholic fermentation, which produces alcohol and carbon dioxide, and lactic acid fermentation, which produces lactic acid. Alcoholic fermentation is commonly used in the production of beer and wine, while lactic acid fermentation is used in the production of yogurt and sauerkraut.
_______ is the formation of alcohol from sugar. Answer Lactic acid fermentation Glycolysis Yeast Alcoholic fermentation
Zymurgy is the branch of applied chemistry dealing with fermentation, as in brewing and distilling.
Although they both taste good and both made possible only through fermentation by yeast, one is a liquid and one is a solid.

It was probably discovered when either wine or bread was first made.
Without it - many foods would be unpalatable - or impossible. Fermentation plays a part in the production of beer, wine, vinegar & bread !
Wine uses the natural sugar in the grapes. Other types of alcohol requires some type of added sugar.
Transubstantiation--The bread and wine of the Holy Sacrament become the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Only the accidents of bread and wine remain. Consubstantiation--An error which maintains that the Savior unites Himself for a short period of time to the bread and wine which remain fully and completely bread and wine.
The difference in communion between Roman Catholic [R.C.] and Episcopal Church [E.C.] comes from the understanding of what happens at the consecration of the bread and wine. The R.C. church believes that the bread and wine physically change into the Body and Blood of Christ. However, the E.C. believes that the change is solely spiritual. Episcopalians still have bread and wine, but the Body and Blood of Christ is present spiritually, metaphorically.
Sherry is a type of fortified wine, meaning that after the initial fermentation and aging process, another spirit is added.
Fermentation can be used to produce foods like yogurt, sauerkraut, and kimchi by harnessing the power of beneficial bacteria. It's also essential in alcohol production, converting sugars into alcohol and carbon dioxide. Additionally, fermentation can be used to develop unique flavors in foods and beverages.
