The computer term Gigabytes refers to memory capacity. This question does not specify which type. There are two primary types of memory that the computer uses. One is RAM (Random Access Memory) and the other is found in the Hard Drive. Think of RAM as short-term and the Hard drive as long term. The RAM allows the computer to have it's own storage area to perform tasks. It is said that the cheapest and easiest way to improve the performance of a computer is to upgrade the RAM (it is a physical part inside of the computer). Improving the RAM does not, however, increase the amount of documents or other files (music, movies, etc) that you can save on the computer. The Hard drive stores your personal documents. So, the "difference between gigabytes on computers" can either be part of the performance if it reads "2GB RAM" or it could be the size of the Hard drive if it is used as "120GB HD". In both cases, the higher the number, the better.
most computers have between 1 and 4 gigabytes of RAM
there is no difference, they are the same.

I know that the only difference is that the pro has i think about 250 GB and a normal 1 has 20 GB.
There is no difference between GB and gb; both mean Gigabyte, or 21000 bytes. However, it is generally considered incorrect to use "gb", because the symbol should be capitalized.
