Valium (diazepam) is more for anxiety and panic; whereas klonopin (clonazepam) is for panic and also for seizures more, but they are both in a class of drugs called benzodiazepines they are somewhat similar in my opinion.
In a word, no!
Ativan is in the same family as Valium. They are both Benzodiazepines. Ativan is about 10 times stronger in terms of DOSE than Valium. They are two different chemicals but have similar effects. Some make you sleepier, and some work more at anxiety. I think Ativan is better than Valium at reducing anxiety but Valium makes you sleepier. But they are both similar so you probably won't notice the difference.
Valium (Diazepam) and Ativan (Lorazepam) are both benzodiazepine drugs. They are similar, but not the same.
No, Valium and Ativan are different medications with different active ingredients. Valium is a trade name (brand name) for the drug "diazepam" and Ativan is a trade name for the drug "lorazepam." However, both diazepam (Valium) and lorazepam (Ativan) belong to the same class of sedative hypnotic prescription medications known as benzodiazepines. Accordingly, diazepam and lorazepam have similar chemical/molecular structures and share many of the same therapeutic properties.
Most benzodiazepine equivalency charts show 10mg Valium = 1mg Ativan so it should work, HOWEVER, be cautious when subsitituting or combining benzos as effects are VERY relative to each person. Paradoxical reactions can occur in one benzo and not another. For example, My cousin can't take Valium- it makes her hyper and irritable, but 0.5mg Ativan knocks her out.
Because Valium is in the same family. Generic name for Valium is Diazepam. See the similarity?
It it possible to take Valium (diazepam) and Ativan (lorazepam) at the same time however it is uncommon for both to be prescribed. However some doctors will prescribe Valium for continuous use, typically three times daily, and may give some Ativan to take as needed or panic attacks or insomnia. Keep in mind that Valium is a far less more potent drug than Ativan, 0.5- 1 mg is equivalent to 10 mg of Valium.
Highly not recommended but it is not fatal.
Having Ativan in your system will cause the result of a urine drug test to show up as positive for benzodiazepines, which is what Valium would do. So yes, they would show up in the same way.
NO. They are not chemically related and have entirely different effects. Ativan is the brand name for lorazepam, a tranquilizer closely related to Valium. Darvocet is a combination of the synthetic analgesic propoxyphene and Tylenol.
No they can not have any drugs Miyabi Armstrong Fraser Acutally, Valium is commonly used on dogs in vet offices. Ativan is in the same class of drugs (although used within a fairly different scope than Valium). I don't know if it can be used on dogs. Best to ask a veterinarian!! Yes, Ativan can be given to dogs but needs to be given under a vets supervision.
No, Valium is a tranquilizer and Flexeril is a muscle relaxant
No. Zoloft is Setraline Hydrochloride and Valium is .. Diazepam.
