Bore to stroke ratio is a primary consideration. Valve timing (and in the case of a fuel injected engine, the injection timing) will also affect the engine's "power band" rpm range.

For a given displacement, longer stroke = smaller bore dia, more torque and lower rpm.

Diesels are more efficient if they have a lower rpm because the diesel fuel takes longer to burn. So the diesel engine will normally be designed for lower rpm.

Does a vtec engine make that much of a difference when racing or will you be fine with a stock 1.6l engine?

The V-tec engine makes a huge difference in racing. The V-Tec allows for power at high revs contra to lower rev power engines. Its main difference between stock engines is that it's acceleration is much better than a stock engine. Top end speed should be about the same.

The benefit of high speed steel?

High Speed Steel is not a type of steel. It is a designation given to any tool that is capable of cutting into or through steel at high speed. A drill bit for example. Refer to the question "What is the difference between mild steel and high speed steel" for a more thorough answer.

Is there a chemical difference between the gauseos and liquid state of the same substance?

There is no chemical difference, the only difference is the speed in which the molecules of the substances move. Slower molecules can be solid or liquid and very high speed molecules can be gas.

What is difference between high speed machine and CNC machine?

CNC denotes Computer Numerically Controlled. so, a cnc machine has all its functions ie: speed, axis movement, tooling selection ran by the computer. High speed is just that, so you can get a high speed CNC.

What is the difference between in Normal speed railway track or High speed railway track are the rails of High speed railway track thick than Normal speed railway track?

What is the difference between high bypass and low bypass turbofan?

The difference between the low and high bypass turbofans is simply in the amount of air which goes into the engine versus the remainder that goes around (bypasses) the engine. In high bypass engines ( an engine on any large commercial jet) only 20% around 20% of air goes into the engine with 80% bypassing it. (The 80% generates most of the engine thrust) In low bypass engines, this ratio is much lower
