Mind makes rational decisions based on thinking whereas heart decides on gut feeling ie emotions. Irrational thinking results in foolish judgments whereas decisions made on the basis of wrong imagination ends in disasters. Imagination emanates from the heart and thinking from the mind. Heart and mind are two different entities. Our ancestor knew this difference.

Heart is much more.. subjective. This refers to opinions which are often "gut feelings" about things, irrational thoughts and desires... From here stems compassion and many branches of ethical decision making.
