Reapportionment, which happens every ten years when there is a census, is the apportioning (or proportional division) of congressional seats (435 for the U.S. Congress since 1911) among the 50 states according to their relative population.
Redistricting is the re-drawing of congressional districts within each state, according to the number of seats they were apportioned, again based on the new census data.
Reapportionment causes redistricting. Reapportionment is objective data (though how the Census Bureau counts population does involve some political disputes, specifically dealing with how low-income citizens are fairly counted). Redistricting is the part where all of the political battles happen.
redistricting. It involves redrawing boundaries for electoral districts to ensure equal representation based on population changes.
The process of setting up new congressional districts after reapportionment is called redistricting. It involves redrawing the boundaries of congressional districts to ensure each district has roughly the same population size based on the latest census data.

Congressional reapportionment occurs when a state gains or loses an electoral vote. Redistricting occurs when the new district is created or a former district is absorbed.
The represenatives serve out their term of 2 years, then they leave and that is it.
gerrymandering is redistricting to where one political party has an advantage over the other, while normal redistricting is just remapping districts.
That's nice to know. I wonder which they were.

ReapportionArticle I of the Constitution directs Congress to reapportion-redistribute-the seats in the House after each decennial census.
