Revivalism is an important part of Christianity. As a movement, it was mostly seen in Wales and the USA. The revivalism movement was most prominent in the second half of the nineteen century. It resulted in the simultaneous decisions of great numbers of people to a high level of commitment, or recommitment, to the core truths of Christianity.

There have been many attempts to reproduce the fervor of those heady days, and they still continue today, but generally each age has its own characteristics, and what strikes a cord in one age does not necessarily do so in another.

An important type of revivalism was seen in the evangelistic outreach of the Billy Graham crusades in the twentieth century. This movement let to millions of people committing themselves to follow Jesus Christ.
