In computer language, I perceive the difference between "see" and "view" as the difference between "see" (mere ocular recognition) and "read". For instance, "Click one of the documents you see on the screen to view it".

If you meant "translucent", that means you can see through it, but not clearly. Opaque means you can't see through it at all. It should not have meant translucent ; translucent cannot be seen through but light can pass through.
