"There are slight changes in specification for example the gearbox but in reality the word sport is pretty much all."
Hm, not really; they use different engines.
There is no such thing as a "325ise". There are 3 engines used in e30's; the 2.5L i I6, the 2.7e I6 (or ete, meaning economy), and the 1.8L I4. The "i" stands for fuel injected.
325is stands for 3 series, 2.5L, i, sport. The "325i sport" you referred to is called a 325is.
325i is the same car without the sports package.
The 325 or 325e are the same car, with the 2.7L eta engine. Not sure why they didn't call it a 327e.
The 318i/318is use the 1.8L 4cyl engine.
I hope that helped.
I have just got a 6 year old BMW 325i sport and it does 149mph but could be pushed 2 a 150mph i recon.
The BMW 325i and 325is had a 152 cu. 2.5L inline 6 The BMW 325, 325e, and 325es had a 164 cu. 2.7L inline 6 AT
Assuming they are the same generation chassis (they look about the same on the outside) the main differences are going to be the engine (one is 2.5L and the other is 2.8L) and perhaps the trim level. If both a 325i and 328i were sold in the same year the 325i will be a lower trim.

The difference is very simple.A regular handle pulls straight out to open the door>A swivel handle swivels upward and outward to open the door.Hope this helps.
I have a 2006 325i and i have jumped it.
I have a 2002 325i Sport and I have been advised by a loval BMW dealer to use Shell Helix Synthetic. .
Hi the difference in the convertible to a sedan is the back of the convertible fender is longer and will not work. If you are looking to repair rot on the bottom of a fender you can use the last five inches of the sedan fender, no more.
The 1990 325i has a M20B25 motor. The earlier 1990 525i had the same motor, a M20B25, whereas the later 1990 525i had a M50B25.
the BMW 525i is larger than the 325i they both utilize the same engine an inline 6 cylinder. 325 may be 200 lbs lighter.
