An evaluation and assessment should be performed on any new program/idea/personal endeavor that is beginning, and then reassessed periodically, or when it is noticeable that problems are arising, for the sole purpose to see what is working and what is not. The learning process is the observations and data being collected for a period of time and the learning product is what was learned through this collected information and then making informed decisions on how to improve the next phase of the program/idea/personal endeavor. Evaluation is the key for success, though it is important to decide what information/data is to be collected, ahead of time, this information will lead to new observations and data collection that might be more important to look at, for the next phase of the program, and lead to another evaluation/assessment.

Is there difference between test measurement and evaluation in education?

Ø Assessment focuses on learning, teaching and outcomes. It provides information for improving learning and teaching. Assessment is an interactive process between students and faculty that informs faculty how well their students are learning what they are teaching. The information is used by faculty to make changes in the learning environment, and is shared with students to assist them in improving their learning and study habits.
