As far as I found out, only the buttons at front side are changed, The kp501 is orange compatible and doesn't come with the Thomas and touch app, the Kp500 comes with Thomas and touch, and it can also be compatible with most of the networks (when i bought my Kp500 they said that they could do it with orange, o2, vodaphone etc.)

The LG KP500 phone unfortunately doesn't have a flash or a zoom as i have this phone. I am not sure about the kp501. sorry.

Yes If I'm right your phone has three butons on the bottom like a kp500 the only difference iis your power and call butons are smaller than the kp500 but that aside it is basicly a kp500 hope that helps xx
